Akub
££££Fadi Kattan opened Fawda in Bethlehem before bringing Palestinian cooking to a Notting Hill townhouse - the first London kitchen to treat it as a fine-dining cuisine.
Bertie Blossoms
££Ed Sheeran's pub, opened with his manager Stuart Camp. Small plates, wine and cocktails rather than anything themed - the ownership is the only way you would know.
Refurbished and reopened March 2025. Deliberately low-key: no memorabilia, and no reason to expect a sighting.
Canteen
££A Portobello Road room added to the Michelin Guide in 2026, in its first year.
Cockney's Pie & Mash
£The west London pie shop, on Portobello Road - the only one of its kind that side of the city.
Core by Clare Smyth
££££Three Michelin stars, built on British produce rather than French technique - widely called the most technically accomplished table in the city.
Dorian
££££A Notting Hill butcher's shop turned bistro where the beef and the wine list are doing the talking.
Empire Empire
£££A love letter to 1970s Bombay dining rooms, from the JKS group - velvet, brass and disco-era styling.
Falafel Zaki Zaki
£A Palestinian-run stall doing generously filled wraps for the price of a coffee.
Fan
££££Chef Coco Sasaki's neo-Nikkei: Peruvian and Cantonese ingredients through Japanese technique, with pachikay nigiri and a £120 tasting menu.
Granger & Co
£££Bill Granger brought Sydney brunch to London and the ricotta hotcakes have been on the menu ever since - the reason half of London eats avocado on toast.
No bookings at weekend brunch at most sites.
Holy Carrot
£££Plant-based cooking that also drops refined sugar and gluten, and eats like none of those are missing.
Kiez Kebab
££Berlin döner rather than London kebab - three options only, served in pide bread rather than wrapped, on Golborne Road.
Kinz
£££A 1930s Lloyds Bank on Notting Hill Gate turned Lebanese brasserie - triple-height ground floor, a deli at the front and the wine room inside the old vault.
Layla
£A Portobello Road bakery doing wood-fired bread and pastries, and one of the few reasons to be at that end of the street on a weekday.
Los Mochis Notting Hill
££££Sashimi and maki on the same menu as ceviche, tiradito and tacos - the pairing sounds like a gimmick and is served like neither cuisine is being humoured.
Mazi
£££Notting Hill Greek that treats the classics as a starting point rather than a checklist, with a garden at the back.
Orasay
£££Jackson Boxer's room, focused on fish and seafood and inspired by the Western Isles in its own words - wood-grilled whole John Dory, Isle of Mull diver scallops.
Ria's
££Thick, crisp-edged Detroit pies - baked in a rectangular steel pan so the cheese caramelises against the sides - matched to a natural wine list. Almost nothing else in London commits to this style.
Founded 2023 by a husband-and-wife pair out of tech. Notting Hill is the original; a second site opened in Soho at 29 Foubert's Place, W1F 7QF, with a downstairs wine cave.
Suzi Tros
£££Mazi's sister two doors along, opened in 2019, with a menu that looks to Thessaloniki and northern Greece: smoked aubergine with red pepper cream, Grandmama's meatballs.
The Ledbury
££££Brett Graham reopened in 2022 with a tighter focus on British sourcing, and took a third Michelin star.
The Pelican
££Named London's best pub by the Good Food Guide and seventh in the UK - the highest-ranked London entry on that list.
Zephyr
£££From the Pachamama group, on Portobello Road - one of the most photographed rooms in west London, and the cooking holds up.
