Can you use an Oyster card on the Heathrow Express?
Yes. Tap in and out at the barriers exactly as you would on the Tube, and you are charged the £26 walk-up single — the same as tapping a contactless bank card or phone. A Railcard loaded onto your Oyster applies its discount. What you do not get is TfL pricing: Heathrow Express sits outside the daily cap and Travelcards, so the tap counts for nothing towards them. If you know your date, a £10 advance single booked 30 or more days ahead is the cheap way on; otherwise the Elizabeth line (£15.50, and it counts towards your cap) or the Piccadilly line (£5.90 peak, £4.00 off-peak) beat it on price.
