In this guide
This guide covers the three ways to sing karaoke in London: a private room you book for your own group, a KTV room inside an East Asian restaurant, and an open stage in a pub where anyone can put their name down. The private room is what most people mean, and it is where most of the sources’ attention goes.
Prices come in three shapes, and they are not comparable at a glance. Some venues charge per person per hour, some charge for the room by the hour, and BAO and U9 charge nothing for the room but set a minimum spend on food and drink. The table below puts them side by side.
💡 The Short Version: Lucky Voice is the most-named karaoke in London, with private rooms in Soho, Holborn and Liverpool Street from £8 a head an hour. BAM Karaoke Box in Victoria has 22 themed rooms and an open-mic stage in its bar. Time Out ranks Rowans, a 1913 bowling alley in Finsbury Park, number one. BAO charges no room fee, just £35 a head on food and drink. Bloomsbury Lanes is half price on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, and Jihwaja in Vauxhall is the Korean noraebang, open until 3am at weekends. For free karaoke, The Star of Kings runs an open stage every Friday.

The most backed
Only Time Out ranks London’s karaoke, and its number one, Rowans in Finsbury Park, is named by three of the 24 sources. The two places the most sources name are both central private-room operators: Lucky Voice by 14 and BAM by 12. The difference is the brief: Time Out leads with pubs and bowling alleys, while the other lists lead with purpose-built rooms.
Lucky Voice, Soho, Holborn and Liverpool Street
Soho: 52 Poland Street, W1F 7NQ · Holborn: 84 Chancery Lane, WC2A 1DL · Liverpool Street: Devonshire Square, EC2M 4YP · Cited by 14 sources · #6 of 14, Time Out · book a room

Named by 14 of the 24 sources, more than any other venue here, from Time Out and Londonist to two YouTube channels and Reddit, where one regular calls it “the longest standing karaoke venue in London”. It opened on Poland Street in 2005, and calls itself London’s first dedicated private karaoke venue. Each soundproofed room has two microphones and a “Thirsty?” button that brings cocktails and sharing plates to the door, so nobody queues at the bar mid-song.
Soho has nine rooms for two to 15; Holborn, the biggest, has ten rooms, an LED dance floor and DJs at weekends, with one room for 30. Every booking is two or three hours, at £8 a head an hour off-peak and £11 to £14 at peak, which starts at 7pm on weekdays. Holborn runs to 3am Thursday to Saturday and is closed Sunday and Monday.
⚠️ Islington and Waterloo closed on 6 October 2026, when Moyagi Group bought Lucky Voice out of administration. Several lists still name five London branches; three are open.
BAM Karaoke Box, Victoria — 22 rooms and an open-mic stage
74 Victoria Street, SW1E 6SQ · Cited by 12 sources · book a room
A Paris karaoke brand that opened in Victoria in April 2024, in the space The Sauce remembers as M Restaurant, and bills itself as Europe’s largest premium karaoke venue. Twelve sources name it, the most after Lucky Voice; on Reddit it comes up for cheap rooms and two-for-one drinks, and The Date Connoisseur called it her favourite karaoke spot in London.

A karaoke room at BAM.
There are 22 rooms over three floors, each decorated around Nell Gwyn and 18th-century excess, from four-person rooms such as the Library and the Slipper Room up to rooms for 35, with 45,000 songs and in-room games. Food in the BAM BAM Bar is by the chef Sabrina Gidda. Thursday to Saturday the bar runs open-mic karaoke on its stage, so you can sing to strangers after your room time ends.
The hen and stag package is £45 a head for two hours with a drink on arrival and two house drinks, or £62.50 with food, and in a group of ten the bride or groom goes free. Open until 1.30am Thursday to Saturday and 9pm on Sunday.
BAO KTV, five restaurants — no room fee
Borough, the City, Marylebone, Shoreditch and Battersea · Cited by 9 sources · #4 of 14, Time Out · book a room
The Taiwanese bun restaurants have six private KTV rooms, the East Asian karaoke format where you eat in the room, and charge no room hire: you spend at least £35 a head on food and drink in a two-hour slot. Nine sources name it, and a Redditor adds that you don’t mind the minimum “when the food is that good”.

BAO Borough.
The rooms each take a film for a theme. The City has two: the Taipei Room, 13 to 23 people, with a wrap-around LED screen after Edward Yang’s Taipei Story, and the New York Room for up to 12, which switches between dining and karaoke mode. Borough’s red Paris, Texas Room was the first and takes 16; Marylebone’s Hong Kong Room, after In the Mood for Love, takes 10. Order from the KTV menu of mini baos and xiao chi platters, or pre-order the set so the food arrives through the session.
Moyagi, Marylebone — Japanese-styled rooms off one corridor
5 Cavendish Place, W1G 0QA · Cited by 8 sources · book a room
A Swedish karaoke brand that opened its London rooms in March 2024 behind Oxford Circus, and since October 2026 the owner of Lucky Voice too. The Nudge describes eight private rooms off “one beautifully moody, glowing corridor”; Country & Town House compares it to a members’ club. On Reddit two Londoners single out the drinks.

A karaoke room at Moyagi.
Rooms take six to 30, with 200,000 songs, a host and drinks served to the room; a separate bar, the Hidden Bar, is open to people who are not singing. A session is 1 hour 45 minutes at £22 to £30 a head, cheapest early on Wednesday or Sunday and dearest late on Thursday to Saturday, and food and drink are extra.
Closed Monday and Tuesday. You pay when you book, and Friday and Saturday slots usually go weeks ahead, by Moyagi’s own account. Free cancellation ends 72 hours before.
All Star Lanes, four bowling alleys
Brick Lane, Holborn, Stratford and White City · Cited by 8 sources · #12 of 14, Time Out · book a booth
A 1950s-styled bowling chain with American diner food, where the karaoke booths sit beside the lanes. Eight sources name it, from Time Out to LondonWorld, mostly as the cheaper way to book a room for a group that also wants to bowl.
Booths are £10 a head an hour off-peak and £12 at peak, booked by the hour. Brick Lane and Stratford have two booths each for up to 14, White City two for up to 12, and Holborn one for seven, so a group of more than seven at Holborn needs another site. Drinks are served in the booth.
Rowans, Finsbury Park — Time Out’s number one
10 Stroud Green Road, N4 2DF · Cited by 3 sources · #1 of 14, Time Out · booking request

Rowans, Finsbury Park. Photo: Tom Page, CC BY-SA 2.0.
Time Out’s number one, and its pick for “getting messy”: a bowling alley open since 1913 with “a private-ish karaoke booth (glass windows mean everyone can see you, even if they can’t hear you)”. There are six booths, together taking groups of up to 50, beside the lanes, pool tables and a dance floor.
The room is charged by the hour, not by the head: £28 on weekday daytimes, £38 at weekend daytimes, £50 Sunday to Thursday evenings and £80 on Friday and Saturday evenings, when bookings are capped at two hours. A 50% deposit holds it. Open until 2.30am on Friday and Saturday; only over-21s are admitted after 7pm, with photo ID.

A basement bowling alley under a hotel, with an American diner and five karaoke rooms beside the eight lanes, each with a big screen, banquettes and a hand-picked library of 30,000 songs. The Sauce likens the set-up to “a student union circa year 2000”; on Reddit someone held a 30th there and says it “does the job”.

KTV and noraebang: karaoke inside a restaurant
KTV is the East Asian format: a private room in or next to a restaurant, with food served to the room and songs in Korean, Mandarin, Cantonese and Japanese as well as English.
